Hei Beautifuls,

I was just browsing around the net and I saw this "this or that makeup tag" from Beautymeetskawaii - Melanie's blog. It's kinda fun so I am adopting the tag game and do it myself ^^

Blush or Bronzer? BLUSH....love love my blush....la la la la. Bronzer's cool but since I am kinda new with fancy makeup techniques so I'll give that a temporary pass ^^

Lipgloss or Lipstick? I was a lipgloss girl. But sometimes when they are sticky, it pisses me off when my hair sticks on it >.< Having said that, I am both ways. I like the way lipstick leaves a tint after it kinda wears off but I always top off my lipstick with a gloss. *greedy ...hehe*

Brushes or Sponges? Brushes for sure....and fingers *teehee*

Nails:
Long or Short? I love mid length nails...not too long or short. But if I have to choose only 1...it's definitely gonna be short. I'm a scientist....I won't want to pierce through my gloves get get the nasties on my bare hands >.<
Acrylic or Natural? Natural all the way ^^ *although my nails are kinda thin*
Brights or Darks? Brights for my finger and dark for my toes......only to choose 1......brights

Jeans or Sweat Pants? Jeans....unless I am at home.....sweats

Jacket or Hoodie? JACKETS!!! but I like my owl hoodie

Hair:
Curly or Straight? Body curl.....but I have naturally straight hair till ppl kept asking me did I straighten my hair!!
Bun or Ponytail? Ponytail. Normally, when I am at home/wash my face it'll be in a bunnytail (part bun part ponytail)...is that even a word?
Bobby Pins or Butterfly Clips? Bobby Pins
Hair Spray or Gel? Hair Spray.....no likey gel....weird feeling >.<
Long or Short? Long......Mr.CK likes it long too ^^

Up or Down? I usually have my hair down...but sometimes at work I am required to have it up when I am doing experiments

Random:
Rain or Shine? At the moment, I am liking Mr.Sunshine ^^ When I was in Malaysia, I love it when it's raining.....absolutely beautiful. Anyho.....I love to sit by the window with a cup of tea/coffee and a book while it's raining....AHHHhhhhhh.....so relaxing!
Summer or Winter? I like spring and autumn........if I have to choose, it'll be winter! Because I can always pile on clothes to keep warm and I can't peel my skin off to keep cool in the summer.

Dry Marbling on Nails

Hei Beautifuls,

I was itching to try water marbling for my nails ages ago. However,I did not get on doing it as I think that it's kinda messy to deal with. Then, the story change after I read these innovative idea of dry marbling on zip lock bags from Kitties26 and Enamel Girl. Awesome awesome idea, and so I did my try last Sunday.

How did my take go?? PICTURE TIME ^^

These are the colours I used (from L to R)
Ulta3 Spring Fling, Poppy, Plum Violet, Face of Australia Amethyst, Sally Hansen White On
First, I painted a white base. Then, I added strips of colour:
After that, I took a toothpick and draw lines from top to bottom.  Leave to dry for about 2 hours!
Sally Hansen White On, Face of Australia Amethyst, Ulta3 Plum Violet, Poppy, Spring Fling
You will need quite a think layer of polish so that it does not dry out and crack when dry!!
This is the result.
You then peel it out using a pair of tweezers. Then, prep you nail with a strengthener  or base that you  prefer.
Then, paint on a layer of nail polish. I used OPI's Argenteeny Pinkini. WAIT for 4-5 minutes for the polish to get tacky. Place the marble nail polish on your nail and smooth it out. Use the tweezers to cut off the excess and WALLAH you got your marble nail ^^
Left Hand
Right Hand
I have received compliments from my colleagues. I LOVE IT. It's so much easier!!!

Just for you information, I used 1 small piece of marble nail polish for my thumbs and 1 small piece for 2 other nails. Did I make sense???? For 1 hand I used 3 small marble polish. I also cut out a small piece of marble polish from the big slab of marble polish for both of my big toes ^^

Give it a try!!!

My New Splurge Toy: Nars Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base

Hei Beautiful....

After wandering sround Mecca Cosmetica for I-don't-know-how-many-times, I finally decided to splurge on a product. I swatched and swatched and swatched, just like how you would go crazy playing with all the colours and I came down to a decision that I will buy a good primer.

I've heard about urban decay primer potion and all, but I can't get my hands on it. Thus, I got my hands on the Nars Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base! I have yet to use it BUT once I got around playing with it, I will let you guys know how I feel. I am currently using the Face of Australia's matte primer, and it does not fulfill my criteria as a good primer. So, after paying $49 it better give me something ^^

Oh...oh....everyone like GFP, so I got the Mecca To Save Face SPF30+ Sunscreen!!!! I don't know how well it works and looking forward to try it after I am done with my current sunscreen ^^
Bottom to top: Nars Box, e/s base, sunscreen
*sorry for the wrong orientation, it's importaed from my phone >.^*

Model's Prefer Brushes Review

Hei beautifuls!

I have been disappeared for some time and back with some post at the back of my brain. First post, I am gonna review 2 Model's Prefer Brushes. How did they fair? After reading some reviews on blogs, youtubes and beauty sites. There are some mixed reviews regarding their brushes. Most of them turn out to be positive, but I beg to differ!

(1) Model's Prefer Crease Brush (blending brush)
picture from priceline
I bought this brush with the thought that I will have an extra 1 when I am cleaning out the other blending brush I have from Sigma (which I love). I was so happy after I bought it and used it immediately after I get home to find out that it's actually VERY PRICKLY! I thought after washing it with a conditioner will be better but it's still prickly!

(2) Model's Prefer Stipling Brush

picture from priceline
I also bought this to serve as an extra. As my Sigma stipling brush is kinda shedding I was hoping that this brush would not. Sadly to announce, the MP's stipling brush sheds more than my Sigma and that I have to pick out each "fur" from my after after applying my liquid foundation with it. Total disaster. Don't ever ever buy this! Other than that, it's also very prickly >.<

All in all, my thoughts are firm that I will not buy another brush from them unless they change the conditions of their brushes. After cleaning all my brushes yesterday, I made a decision to chuck the 2 brushes in the bin. Sad and a waste of money, I know. But what's there to do when they just sit on my table and serve as an eye sore!!

So, have you tried any of their brushes? Let me know ^^

Current LOVED Mascara - Fasio

As I was saying about the failed mascara, I just thought I should show you guys my current LOVED mascara. I bought this back in March while I was back in Malaysia.

I have read so much about this brand which is a sister of Kose in Japan --> Fasio. This is the Fasio Hyper Stay Mascara Magne-Plus Curl Long (for length) in black. I also have another mascara but it's the Curl Volume (for volume) in brown. I have been using the Curl long and loved  don't ever get panda eyes from this mascara and my curls were held sky high until I remove them! It's all that I want in a mascara.

Sleek packaging

Comb wand - very easy to control and use, also gets every single lashes

The one in the box is curl volume (brown) and the opened curl length (black)

I also thought I should share my trustee eyelash curler as well ^^ Behold the Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler. I heard about the hype ever since I started getting into makeup about 2 years ago, but I never got my hands on it until last march and it was LOVED!

Just had a random thought ^^ hahaha....I love my PJ's owl prints!!! *squeals*

1st Beauty Fail Product

Hei there peeps, I have always wanted to integrate beauty reviews/ideas into my blog but I've never gotten into it. So, now while my blogging bug still hangs around I shall move on to it ^^

The 1st stop is a mascara that failed me >.< No biggie as I have typical asian lashes which sticks straight down if I don't curl them up and paint mascara over them! This mascara which have quite a good review, so I thought I would give it a try when Priceline - a local drugstore here in Oz - was having it on sale at $10.

With great anticipation let's get to know who this is : Rimmel Glam Eyes Mascara Waterproof Formula

It may be a HG (holy grail) product for those girl who have long luscious lashes. But for me, my moment of glory starts with curling my lashes with shu uemura eyelash curler and end moments later with the mascara. It weight down my lashes so much that it does not perk up and worsen the situstion --> lashes point pin straight! Sigh.....however, I think it's a good mascara to use on the bottom lashes. So far so good, I will definitely report back whether it gives me panda eyes or not!!!

The Best and Worst (Chinese Restaurant Edition)

Hei peeps!!!

I know I know, I MIA-ed for like eon years! You know there's a bug called the "blogging bug" - which tend to infect me in certain time of the year. That's why I don't blog often! *reasons reasons....I have a 1mil of them!*

Right, since I am Malaysia Chinese (DOH~) I think I have quite a good taste bud family on my tongue! I am gonna write this column dedicated to those in Adelaide looking for AWESOME Chinese food. (Disclaimer: This is solely the authors honest opinion, no disrespect to the restaurant and do not hold any credits)

The worst I have eaten, thus far ---> J restaurant (chinatown)
Man, this restaurant don't have great service but suffice. However, the food is horrible. As a Chinese, I feel bad >.< I think that my home cook food is far better than it. Among the 9 of us dining last Friday, we all have a unified opinion that out of the 7 dishes that we ordered, only 1's good. That's like 14.29% out of a total 100%....a FAIL grade...sheeh..but still the reviews on the net gave them a 70% HOW CAN THAT POSSIBLY HAPPEN? Oh...I forgot something, the tea has BUGS in them. Well, this is to show they have stored the tea incorrectly! All in all a total disaster! I/we will never go and dine in there again!!

Atmosphere: 3/5 *quite grand looking*
Food: 1/5
Service: 2/5
Price: 2/5 *quite cheap BUT I don't think its worth the price*

The best I have eaten, thus far ---> Walkerville Chinese Restaurant (vale park)
Oh Mee GOD!!! Best food EVER..........Chinese/Malaysian/Asian whatever you wanna call it. It's freaking awesome..I just can't say how awesome awesome AWESOME the food here is..YUMMO!!! Must try the Belacan vege, nyonya curry chicken, chilly prawns......etc etc etc SO GOOD.....Malaysians --> hey you are gonna miss home food so much more now!! The service is a little slow cuz it's a family business BUT the owners are really nice!!!! So fun to talk with and give great recommendations^^ We're heading in tonight for chilly crab ^^ *the season is ending soon...those who wanna try please pre-book the crabs...oh and the table too..* I definitely give them 100% ...eating there had been so much fun!! To eat and enjoy is a great satisfaction *love love*

Atmosphere: 4/5 *kinda small but welcoming*
Food: 5/5
Service: 4/5 *1 point off for a tad bit slow*
Price: 4/5 *worth the food...so worth it....sound like loreal's adv "because you are worth it" hahahaha*

Great.....signing off now ^^

p/s: still not feeling 100% in health yet.....i am gonna be so dead tomorrow >.^
